Tibet Visa Information

Tibet visa information or Chinese visa is obtained by completing an online application form, gathering the required supporting documents, and submitting your physical passport to a Chinese Visa Application Service Center or Chinese Embassy & Consulate nearby you.

Before you arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal, you need to complete the Tibet group visa application form. The Tibet visa for Kailash Manasarovar Yatra / tour requires an original passport as Tibet is a Chinese state. The Chinese Embassy, Kathmandu, Nepal makes Tibet visas within six days from Monday to Friday, but we need physical passports to apply for group visas. Determine Visa Type: If you are planning to go on a Tibet tour or a Kailash Manasarovar tour, it is important to identify the correct visa category (" L" visa) prior to your trip. Other visa categories are not allowed for Kailash Manasarovar Yatra.         

Complete Online Form
: Complete the application form with your personal and travel information, and upload any required documents (such as a photo and bio-page from your passport). As well as online summit day by day itinerary, hotel reservation conformation, flight reservation slip.

Wait for Review: It takes about 3 to 5 working days for the online review process to be completed

Submit In-Person: The application center will require your original passport (valid for at least 7 months with two blank pages), printed confirmation, physical photo, and supporting documents once you have been approved.

Fingerprints: Through December 31, 2026, applicants for short-term visas (staying up to 180 days) are exempt from fingerprint collection

Processing and Collection: After you submit your physical documents, standard processing takes about four working days. After you pay your fee and pick up your visa, it will take about four working days.

Passport: You must have a valid passport with at least 7 months remaining validity and at least 2 blank visa pages, plus a clear photocopy of the information from your passport

Proof of Travel or Invitation for Tourism (L Visa): The itinerary of your round-trip flight and hotel bookings, OR the official letter of invitation you received from a China-based travel agency or individual.

Visa Application Form & Photo: A printed copy of your completed online form and a physical passport photo (33mm × 48mm, taken within 6 months, white background, no headwear) that matches the uploaded digital Photo information link

Complete the interactive Visa Application Form online through the official global portal of the Chinese Visa Application Service Center or the local website of your country's Chinese Embassy. Chinese Visa Application Service Center  Please enter your personal details, passport specifications, travel dates, and destination cities exactly as they appear on your legal documents. Please download and print the Visa Application Form and Confirmation Page once you have submitted your visa application online. Sign the physical documents where necessary.

Final documents required: It is important that you bring your passport, your printed application, your photos, and any other supporting documents with you to the service center.

Collect Your Visa: For standard service, it typically takes 4 to 5 business days, although express services are available for an additional charge. A pickup slip will be sent to you showing the date when you can collect your passport with the Chinese visa stamp in it
